“McMenamins Edgefield is an experience, and we've stayed there a number of times. The rooms, for the most part, are from another era (it used to be the county "poor farm"), but the grounds are spectacular, the heated outdoor pool is stunning at night. The food is somewhat expensive, but my wife and I shared a grilled Ahi appetizer that was outstanding- probably the best I've ever had. “Air conditioning did not work and there was a screen missing in my window but it was so stuffy in room that we had to leave windows open. There was also an odor in the room. On the bottom of my shower was something weird like paint or a nasty stain.”

“It’s dated. It’s not fresh or new. It’s affordable. The pool and hot tub are nice. What sets it apart is the staff is excellent. They go above and beyond. Handle stressful situations like when site overbooks with grace and kindness even when people are mean to them. Hats off to the staff.”
